Mindprint Implements Market-Leading Automation Solution for Ockham Oncology
Innovative Software System Simplifies Management, Improves Profitability of Clinical Trials
TORONTO, ON–(Marketwired – May 28, 2014) – Mindprint Inc. and Ockham Development, Inc. have implemented an innovative automation software system to help the global CRO manage trials efficiently to ensure a more focused approach to its core oncology mission.
Mindprint, a Toronto-based company specializing in software management solutions for the Contract Research industry, has worked onsite with Ockham to customize the new management tool, which went live in December 2013.
“Our passion is helping companies fight cancer,” said Jim Baker, CEO of Ockham, which includes a global division solely focused on cancer drug trials. “We have successfully completed more than 250 oncology trials for some of the leading pharma companies.
“Because of the operational complexity in managing global trials, our conventional software tools have become cumbersome. After extensive research, we chose Mindprint as our solution.”
Ockham continues to experience fast growth just two years after the successful integration of Nexus Oncology, a Scotland-based oncology CRO. Mindprint, which specializes in CRO software solutions, prepared an operational plan while working closely with the Ockham team.
“We interviewed the key subject matter experts for Ockham Oncology,” said Prasad A. Sristi, CEO of Mindprint.”We were able to use our library of CRO solutions for demo purposes to gather quality feedback and build consensus about what Ockham needed.” Both Sristi and Baker praised the thorough review of Ockham’s business.
“These new tools help us serve our clients more effectively and preserve our essential focus on the clinical challenge in helping our clients in developing new cancer-fighting formulations,” Baker said.
Mindprint implemented a professional services automation (PSA) tool customized for Ockham’s needs. A key part of the PSA allows Ockham to measure the profitability of each clinical study — a challenging aspect of every trial due to the many data sources associated with each trial.
Sristi said the core of the technology is the patented Axpert platform developed in Bangalore by India-based Agile Labs. This tool allow the customization of enterprise management systems without extensive hard coding.
Baker praised Mindprint software’s capacity to do much more for their business in addition to generating interactive reports on profitability. “The system implemented by Mindprint is exactly what we needed,” Baker said. “When we began implementation, we realized that if utilized correctly Mindprint can be fundamental to our business and meet our growth demands.”
The new software tools allow “much more accurate financial data and financial forecasts for our entire company,” Baker said.

AlcheraBio LLC Announces Partnership With Mindprint Inc. to Move to a Cloud-Based Custom Enterprise Software Solution Designed to Improve Productivity and Drive Future Growth
New Jersey/Toronto: AlcheraBio, a veterinary clinical contract research organization (CRO) based in New Jersey, and Mindprint Inc. of Markham, Ontario, have completed the implementation of a Custom Enterprise Software System (ERP) that will dramatically improve AlcheraBio’s productivity, allocation of resources and plans for growth.
AlcheraBio provides the most-up-date support to its clients in the animal health care, biotechnology and life sciences fields by delivering thorough, detailed services quickly.
The implementation allows AlcheraBio to collate several systems to a “one-button push” system that is highly efficient. The system manages CRO operations such as study proposal management, study quotation, timesheets, expenses, invoicing, CRM, and HR.
”Now, we can clearly see where the company might gain efficiency, cut costs, or make additional investments into the business,” said Dr. Johnny Jacobsen, COO of AlcheraBio.
The partnership with Mindprint Inc., which designs, develops, and implements cloud-based software solutions for the Clinical Research market, provides something completely different from other solutions: an affordable, cloud-based front-to-back-end, fully customized enterprise software solution that fits the specific needs of AlcheraBio.
“No two contract research organizations are the same, and they all have very complex requirements,” said Prasad A. Sristi, founder and president of Mindprint Inc. “With our Axpert based software, clients get our ‘hands-on’ systematic approach to helping them solve and manage their internal process challenges, and an attractive subscription package that does not require massive outlays of customer time or money. It provides them the flexibility they need as their organization grows and prospers,” he said.
AlcheraBio said the Mindprint solution has already slashed project financial administration management time by nearly three quarters. The company now spends 7 to 8 hours a month (down from 32-36) collecting, aggregating and managing its financial data at month end. Besides harnessing its own internal processes, the technology has helped AlcheraBio offer up-to-date project cost numbers to its clients.
“Transparency is so important in everything we do. Now there are no black holes,” said AlcheraBio’s COO Dr. Jacobsen.
AlcheraBio LLC is a leading veterinary clinical contract research organization (CRO) and animal health consultancy. AlcheraBio is headquartered in New Jersey, with a satellite office in Kansas City. Mindprint and ethica Clinical Research Inc. Announce Implementation of Highly Effective Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System
Implementation of Customized Axpert ERP System at ethica Was Complete in Less Than Four Months
TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Jan. 31, 2012) –
Mindprint Inc. and ethica Clinical Research Inc. announced the successful implementation of a highly effective Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for managing all pre-sales, operations, and finance related processes for ethica Clinical Research Inc.
ethica Clinical Research Inc. is a full-service Contract Research Organization (CRO) operating in Canada, Mexico and India that conducts and manages ethical clinical research on drugs, biologics, medical devices and natural health products. ethica had evaluated multiple ERP systems and found that none fully met their requirements. All of the standard ERP systems either did not have the functionality needed to meet ethica’s requirements or were so rigid that ethica would have had to change their internal processes to suit the software.
ethica originally engaged Mindprint for a two-week requirement gathering session that began with an assessment and exploration of ethica’s internal work processes and resulted in the generation of the ideal processes for an ERP system that would fit ethica’s size and culture. Mindprint then provided a fixed price quote for mapping all of ethica’s work processes including customer relationship management, human resources, operations, timesheets, and invoicing into an Axpert based ERP system.
The entire ERP system implementation within ethica’s organization (including design, development, installation, and data migration) was done in less than four months. Mindprint’s iterative approach ensured that the key users at ethica were highly engaged during the entire implementation process and this resulted in a system that fit ethica like a glove. Mindprint’s fixed price approach also significantly mitigated the financial risk of the project for ethica’s senior management.
“Mindprint worked very efficiently and intuitively. It was very adept at understanding the complexities of our business processes and simplifying them in the context of developing an ERP system that suited our needs,” said Dr. Janice Parente, President of ethica Clinical Research Inc. “Axpert has been successful at consolidating and centralizing ethica’s key processes in a way that allows us to manage the business more effectively and efficiently.”
“Midsize professional services organizations are underserved in the market by ERP vendors. This provided an opportunity for Mindprint and our Axpert platform to work together and develop a perfectly fitted ERP for ethica Clinical Research Inc., a midsize organization that operates in Canada, India and Mexico,” said Prasad Sristi, Founder and President, Mindprint Inc. “As a clinical research organization managing clinical studies for drugs and natural health products, ethica’s internal processes are complex. Instead of imposing a set of so called ‘best practices’, our belief in honing our clients’ internal processes to a new level of efficiency resulted in a system that fit ethica like a glove and has been operating at 100% usage from day one. Axpert’s no-coding approach ensured that the implementation was complete in less than four months as compared to the years that other ERP systems often require.”
